The Atjoda Hope Foundation (AHF) received with heavy heart the news of the unprovoked attacks leading to the destruction of lives and property in some communities in Bokkos and Bassa LGAs of the State by suspected herdsmen. The Foundation condemns in totality the killings of innocent people living in their ancestral homes and the concomitant impunity in the disregard to the sanctity of human lives.
These actions of the so-called herdsmen are one too many and probably geared towards destabilizing the relative peace being experienced in the State under the “Time is Now Administration” of the State Government. We unequivocally condemn these unwholesome acts capable of returning the State to the dark days of unbridled insecurity.
While sympathizing with the government, the affected communities and the entire citizens of the State, it is our hope that those caught should be made to face the full wrath of the law to serve as a deterrent to others who are yet planning to perpetrate the same dastardly acts.
AHF extends its deepest condolences to His Excellency , Barr Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, the Executive Governor of Plateau State. We strongly condemn these attacks, which he aptly described as genocide and commend His Excellency ‘s commitment at ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all citizens of the State.
We pray for the peaceful repose of the souls of those killed, speedy recovery of the injured and may their families find strength in the face of this tragedy.
